It’s hard to believe the Cavaliers are 4-6 after their first ten games. There really is only one explanation. The league is just that competitive.

It is a common misconception that the league has been incredibly top heavy the past 3 years due to the fact that the Cavs and Warriors have been obliterating everything in their path and hogging 2 weeks in June to themselves for the past 3 NBA Finals. The rest of the league didn’t hibernate during that time and top tier teams were put through the ringer every game. We just didn’t like to acknowledge that. Obviously when the Cavs and Warriors come out on top it’s easy to think that it’s just not fair because of how good they are but it really is never that black and white.

Every team the Cavs lost to this season has improved in some way except for Indiana. When the Cavs are clicking and rolling at 100% obviously Lebron himself gives them an edge over every team but look at the Washington game. Lebron has arguably the best game of someone his age and they still only won by 8.

The East is still weak and obviously this Cavs team is still going to roll into 50+ wins this season but it will definitely be the hardest season yet for Lebron. It would be nice to see how this team looks like once Isaiah Thomas comes back from his hip injury but until then the Cavs are going to go through the rigorous ringer every game of a league 29 other teams that want to do nothing else but to beat them.
